ZoomLib v1.0.1 for Windows

Download here:  https://goo.gl/PzM82A (https://goo.gl/PzM82A)

Note: From time to time, Google Drive has a problem with a false positive virus report which prevents downloading from the above link.  (Don't be alarmed if this happens: it's a product of the anti-virus industry.  ZoomLib has been downloaded about 10000 times in two years, with no viruses reported.)
If needed, here is an alternative link to try:

Thank you very much! This is what was missing for my MS-50g. The software works fine with Windows 10-64, even from USB Sticks.

Sir, I installed Zoomlib in Win8 32 bit. Whenever I open it, it does not detect my G1Xon connected thru USB port. It says "Waiting for connection......". What is wrong? Should I make any settings in the fx pedal? Please help me.

Shankarkvp, have you tried to first launch the software and then connect the pedal? This should work. Good luck!

Yes. I tried that too. But, no use. When I connect the pedal, should there be a process of finding new hardware and installing a driver?

Running Windows 10 and using ZoomLib with a MS-50G I´m not sure if that applies to you: The Windows device manager (system control) should show your pedal as connected. There is no extra driver needed, nor any special settings of the pedal.

Does your USB port work with other devices? Did you check the cable?
Title: Re: ZoomLib v1.0.1 for Windows
Post by: Dave (drdashdot) on June 27, 2016, 07:13:59 PM

AndyS is spot on - Zoomlib should just work.
Most likely cause is your USB cable (make sure you're not using a charging cable.)

Other possibilities:
- another program is using the port (although I think that gives a different message)
- there's an error in the G1Xon product id in the program.  If that's the case, Zoomlib won't recognise anybody's G1Xon.  (I've had no other reports of problems.)

I don't have a G1Xon to test.  If any G1Xon owners read this, could you please confirm that your pedal is recognised?

Thanks for your immediate responses. It may be a fault with the cable. I am not sure. I don't have another cable to check at present. I'll try with another cable when I get one and inform you the result at the earliest. Thanks.

Happy that it is working. The problem was that USB ports were being used by other devices like audio interface, MIDI control keyboard, web cam etc., I tried it on my laptop which has no other USB devices connected to. And it worked. Thank you all for your support.

Just saw a post about this on another forum and wandered on over. This is awesome - I really hated that my B1on has a USB port that didn't do anything :( . Now I've re-arranged my patches and tidied up :) :) :)

I've put a copy on google drive - try this link:

ZoomLib works easily (when Microsoft is leaving my 'puter alone).
I'll share a few of my tweaks once I know what I'm doing.

I've had little luck with this Windows thing - I can't duplicate the problem.

Do you have something else using the usb/midi port?
Try going to Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Sound, video, and game controllers
If there is any device there that might use midi, try double clicking it (or right click -> Properties) then in the Driver tab, disable the device.
More extreme option: try uninstalling the driver (but be sure you have a copy of the driver to reinstall.)

Please post if you work it out.

I don't know if this has been noted before, but one of the reasons ZoomLib was not connecting for me was that I had my pedal powered up via a battery and a 1/4" patch cable in the input before plugging in the USB cable.
That stopped Windows from detecting the need for the required driver.
So, pulling out the input cable (thereby powering down the pedal) and THEN plugging in the USB did the trick.
After that, the driver got installed, and after restarting ZoomLib, all was well.

Did a full backup.
Awesome, great application, thanks for the effort!

Hi, is there an editor app for G1Xon like 'Edt and Share'? It is difficult to edit within the hardware.

At the end of the installation the Message
"Error loading Python DLL ... missing python27.dll (error code 14001)"
appears. The programm can't be found on my system. But the python27.dll is installed. I found 8 copies of the .dll in my "c:" drive

Hi Pitschi.  That's a new one!  It shouldn't happen - zoomlib is self contained and shouldn't need any dlls.
After attempting installation, do you have the folder c:\\ZoomLib\ ?
Is there anything in it?

I know there was a mention of issues with VirtualBox on the 1.0.0 thread, but it seemed inconclusive.

I don't have a Windows machine, so I tend to do anything Windowsy in VirtualBox under Linux (Ubuntu 17.04, since you ask :) ).

And the problem I'm having is that the application simply sits there saying "Waiting for connection".

Now, I know a few things -
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas as to how to move forward?

What I'd really, really like would be an API for Linux , but I'm happy to slum it in Windows for now!

Sorry all.  There is no virus - this is a "false positive".
It is safe to ignore the warning, but understandable if you don't want to risk it.  A similar thing happened when I first set up the forum, with direct download.  Since then, it has been downloaded thousands of times - no viruses.

I've now had to move downloads to google drive due to hosting issues.  Again, the unknown file is marked as a virus simply because it is unknown.

I'll look into it as soon as I can.  If you decide to try it. please confirm here that it's ok.

Cheers
Dave

PS: I will modify the download link on the original topic post

I’m running Windows XP SP3 and cannot get the editor to recognise/see my zoom G1on. I just get a waiting for connection message. I had no problem updating the firmware using the zoom program, and my computer recognises the zoom is connected. Any ideas?

I've managed to get it working on my win7 laptop, so it may be a WIN XP S3 issue..

I have managed to download the single patches such as the excellent Apache one, but I also have a complete set of the Art D'Echo patches for this pedal, designed to be opened with ZoomLib. But Zoomlib ALWAYS loads with the Zoom Patch exchange threads in the left-hand pane, and it never allows me to load the Art D'Echo patches using the Full Restore button. I had hoped to upload the patches individually, but I cannot do that until I can load them on the predal to split the information. Anyone help? Does ZoomLib exist as a stand-alone, or does it always have the Zoom patch exchange details in the l/h pane?

ZoomLib will work stand-alone.  To do what you want, copy the desired backup file to the ZoomLib backup data directory.
On windows, this is C:\\ZoomLib\
On a Mac, this is the ZoomLib subdirectory in your home directory.

Then when you press the full restore button in ZoomLib, the desired file should be available.

Hi Dave.
Tried your technique, but still cannot open the file. Fortunately Zoomlib worked correctly this time, connecting to the G1xon, and so I can play with the current files. Sadly when I hit 'restore' it will ONLY show files with the Gx1on extension, not the G1on extension , and this is the file I want to load. I have tried altering the file extension, but it still refuses to load it. Of course the file may be corrupted, but since there is no difference ( as far as I am aware, having played with Gx1on and G1on files in Tonelib interchangeably) between the different files, why will the pedal not load files with the G1on extension, and presumably adding the X doesn't fool the program.
Any help gratefully accepted!

Hi Guys.
Just an update-looks like the file must have been corrupted since , by ensuring the file was in the same folder as the Zoomlib program as suggested ( thanks for that tip, Dave) , it now loads correctly without any issues. It could also be that the file extension was G1on, not GX10n to match my pedal, although I am not aware of any differences in the patches between the two pedals, apart from the file extension. I'm going to compare the files later with a file viewer at HEX level, and see if I can work out the problem. Even more importantly, the Zoomlib now opens correctly with a well defined right-hand pane for the pedal, something it did not do  before, and dragging the patches across works well from those on the Zoompatch exchange site. Just remember to log in , or it won't work, as I found!
Incidentally I understand from another member 'downunder' ( I'm in the UK), that he is having issues accessing this site. I have never had any such problems before, and currently it is absolutely fine as far as I am seeing. A server issue, presumably...?
Thanks again,
Mike

Yes, that's me. I'm in touch with Dave separately about this and he is looking into it. Weird thing is I can access this board but not the Patch Exchange which returns the error "unable to load webpage, Try again? Yes/No" Doesn't work. Possibly an issue with servers in AU or accessing a server from AU perhaps? Interested to know whether others are having similar problems. All used to work from here in the past. Not at the moment.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay everybody - I've been out of action for a little while.

The problem with accessing the patch exchange from zoomlib should be fixed.  As always, fixing one thing can break something else unexpectedly - please let me know if that happens...
