I'm not sure about XP.  Anyone out there running it successfully?

Other things to check/try:

- Make sure your usb cable is ok (or try another.) Some are made for charging only and don't connect data.
- Try connecting the pedal before starting the program (or vice versa.)
- Try disconnecting/reconnecting the pedal with the program running.
- Make sure nothing else is running that might grab the pedal's usb interface.

Not promising that it's not showing up as a device.  On Win 8.1, it shows in the device manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers as a USB Composite Device (but with little or no identifying info.)  Makes me think the cable is the issue.

Let us know how you go.

Cheers
Dave

PS Make sure you have v1.0.1 too please (not 1.0.0) - that shouldn't cause your problem though.

Hi Dave,

I have tried it every way I know how, out of 12 data cables used for external HDDs, windows xp brought up a new hardware alert with just one of these cables which is only visible in device manager as unidentified device working. No ID or drivers etc. Zoomlib didn't detect the pedal at all... I am using win xp professional with sp3... tried launching it before connecting and afterwards but no luck.

Zoomlib  installed alright and launches ok... just won't detect the pedal.

That doesn't sound so good.  I wouldn't expect ID or drivers.
Do you have other audio or midi stuff installed? (and working?)
While we wait for someone with XP to read this and post here, I might post on some other forums.

Well, no response from other forums.  Any further progress with XP?

I'll change the news banner on this forum to steer any XP users to this link.

Hi Dave,

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Zoom G1Xon. I tried your application (ZoomLib Ver. 1.0.1) on a laptop with Windows XP (Windows Home Edition Ver. 2002, Service Pack 3). The program installed correctly and runs well, but does not recognize the pedal. Windows recognizes the pedal as a USB audio device (Zoom 1 series) but the program does not 'see' the pedal.

After I install this application on another laptop with Windows 7 and it worked perfectly with this PC ( same cable, etc ..). There is no doubt that it is the operating system. I hope this information is useful, because I find that the program is an excellent idea and very useful. Congratulations

Excuse my English (I am Spanish)

Thanks Mikel.  You are the only one to respond so far - it looks like XP won't work with ZoomLib.

I don't intend to try to make it work with XP - apologies to XP users.
